Abstract(in English) The return loss properties are analyzed by using the taper shape for the characteristic impedance of the microstrip line to change into rased cosine type. Actual taper widths of the lines are obtained from the characteristic impedance, and are divided into steps. The scattered coefficients in each step are obtained by using the waveguide model and the mode matching method, and are unified by using the generalized scattering matrix method. Then, the characteristic chart is defined, and the best shapes, compared to those of raised cosine and linear dimension tapers, are considered that the insertion loss in the utilization band becomes small.
