Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Collinear acoustooptic devices have unique wavelength-selective switching characteristics and are applicable to matrix switches and to add/drop multiplexers for WDM photonic switching systems. This paper discusses wavelength-selectivity of acoustooptic switches consisting of an optical directional coupler with experimental results. Also, propagation and coupling characteristics of acoustic waves along waveguides are investigated, which play all important role in integration and in weighting the acoustooptic coupling. The optical/acoustic waveguides are formed by proton exchange.
