Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Transient electromagnetic fields caused by the electrostatic discharge (ESD) between charged metals have wideband frequency spectra up to the microwave region, which give serious malfunction to high-tech information equipment. For the above ESD fields, we have previously analyzed them, using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, and have revealed that the presence of the metals increase the field level according to the the metal dimension. We calculate by the FDTD method the occurrence electromagnetic fields caused by the spark between metals with ferrite core attachments. The computation results show that the cores attached near to the discharge gap suppress the magnetic field level, which is also confirmed experimentally.
