Numerical analysis of shielded electromagnetic fields by using Impedence Boundary Condition

Abstract(in English) This communication investigates a numerical analysis method for calculating electromagnetic fields of 2-dimensional model involving an arbitrary-shaped shielding surface, aiming at the establishment of a practical analysis method. The employed method uses IBC (Impedance Boundary Condition) of the shielding surface, implemented into MMP (Multiple Multi-Pole) method. In order to check the validity of IBC representation of the shielding wall, a comparison is made between rigorous solution and IBC-based one, by using a circular cylindrical shield model and its solution from the separation of variable. Another comparison is made between the above IBC-based solution and that of MMP method with IBC implementation, by the same model of the first case. Result shows the order of error of calculated shielding effectiveness, in connection with parameters such as maximum order of multipole expansion. Finally, another model of cylindrical shield of rectangular cross section with rounded corners is assumed, as an example of complicated shape which cannot be solved analytically. The result shows the applicability of proposed method to complicated shape of shield, as well as the demonstration of snapshots of vector fields and spatial distribution of shielding effectiveness for various sources and shielding materials.
