Analysis of Amplifier Distortion with Frequency Characteristics

Abstract(in English) One tone method using single-carrier amplitude and phase characteristics has investigated for a distortion analysis of a mobile communication system power amplifier. This method can apply only the case that signal band width is negligibly narrower than amplifier band width. Therefore this method can't apply to a broadband signal. In this paper, we propose the new analysis method of amplifier distortion with frequency characteristics. In this new method, a frequency dependent nonlinear amplifier is modeled by a frequency independent nonlinear amplifier and a frequency dependent linear input and output circuit. This new method can analyze the amplifier distortion caused by a broadband signal like multi-carriers or W-CDMA signal accurately. After we explain this new method, we show a result of the intermodulation analysis using this new method and Harmonic Balance method.
