Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bus which transfers data is one of important components in various LSIs. There are LSIs that bus power consumption is dominant. In this paper, we propose a low power technique considering characteristics of transfer data. Not all bus lines have effective data. We call active bits which are effective bus lines on a bus. We reduce unnecessary switching considering active bits on the bus. Experimental results demonstrate up to 53.3% power reduction of a 32bit data bus.
