A 22mW Bluetooth RF Transceiver with Direct RF Modulation and On-chip IF Filtering

Abstract(in English) A+2dBm Bluetooth transceiver in a 0.5mm SiGe BiCMOS consumes 22mW at 2V. The transmitter uses a ΔΣ fractional-N synthesizer and on-chip VCO to directly modulate the carrier and settles to 30ppm within 120us. The single low-IF I/Q receiver uses a 7th-order complex IF filter with tuning, distributed AGC and digital PLL demodulation.
