Abstract(in English) In this papre we proposed a area reduced architecture of the Advanced INTRA Coding for both the MPEG-4 and the H.263 Version 2. We proposed an arithmetic logic unit which can be shared by the Advanced Intra coding and the Quantification in coding process and an arithmetic logic unit which can be shared by the Inverse Advanced Intra coding and the inverse quantification in decoding process. By making use of the similarity of the calculation part of them, we got much area reduced by changing the order of calculation so as to make the hardware get high utilization rate. It is possible to realize the H.263 Version 2 Codec by using this core.
