Abstract(in English) The recent digital image processing such as MPEG divides the image data into 8x8 pixel blocks and processes each block independently.We have developed the device,4Mb Block Random Access Memory(BRAM),as an Application Specific Memory(ASM)which is targeted to process digital images. BRAM is a two-port memory which provides one input port and one output port that functions independently to one another,The memory organization is 512k x 8bit and the data can be accessed quickly in random blocks(8bites, 8words x 8bits).In order to suit various application,BRAM has peculiar features such as programmable address configuration and exchangeable port I/O.
