Abstract(in English) Using an improved low-power flip-flop that contains feedback gates with a high output impedance,we developed a dual modulus prescaler IC for applications in mobile communication systems.We fabricated it with 0.35-μm gate-length high electron mobility tran sistors (HEMTS) and direct coupled FET logic (DCFL) technology.The′ prescaler can operate with a single NiCd battery.We obtained a power dissipation of 0.72 mW at an input frequency of 2 GHz and a supply voltage of 0.8 V.The power dissipation is less than 1, 4 of any other 2 GHz prescalers.
