A Waveform Evaluation of Substrate Noise Using A Wide-Band Detector

Abstract(in English) In analog and digital mixed-signal integrated circuits, cross-talk noise is an important problem. To make clear a process of noise generation, we designed a standard noise source using CMOS inverter array that can change scale of circuit, direction of transition and delay time. A 0.35μm CMOS test chip include the noise surce and a wide-band detector for frequencies below 1GHz. Under an assumption that linear combination of peak-shaped and oscillation components form substrate noise, it is proved that the oscillation part is decomposed by a plain oscillation model.
