Abstract(in English) | While almost 70% of semiconductor demand is for PC related, PC is changing rapidly from stand alone PC to the networked PC by LAN and Internet evolution, and keep penetrating into everywhere in the society, both at offices and at homes. But it is said that information retrieval by PC is still difficult for beginners who need to start using PC as an information tool. In this presentation it will be shown how so called multimedia capabilities with higher performance/functions can improve PC's MM I/F effectively so that the PC beginners can use it much more easily and it will also show the direction where PC is going in near future as one of the discussion topics in the R&D for the 21st century VLSI. |
