Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel Boltzmann-machine (BM) neuron device that uses quantum-coupled single electrons (QBM). The device consists of a two-dimensional arrangement of quantum dots, in which each dot is occupied by a single electron. The polarizations "down" and "up" of the electron spin are used to encode the two states, 0 and 1, of the BM neuron. Because the single electrons behave like a probabilistic wave, the quantum device produces the stochastic operations naturally. We calculate the operation of the QBM and demonstrate that the device performs the stochastic operations of the BM neuron.
