Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe a summary production system for Japanese newspaper atticles on sassho-jiken (murders and bodily harms). It deletes and/or replace certain expressions first in the article on a sassho-jiken. It then finds information on the events happened and persons involved, builds conceptual structure from them, produce a summary from the ccnceptual structure. Finally and when necessary, it applies structural transformations to the sentences generated. The summaries thus produced are rather coheren and show an effeetiveness of the system in understanding and generating certrain sentences in Japanese.
