Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Within LFG much literature has recently argued that complex predicates like causatives are actually mono-clausal at the level of grammatical relations through the process of complex predicate formation in syntax. This hypothesis also fits well in analyzing Japanese causatives and other related constructions. Based on the notion of complex predicates, the adverb scope or 'sika-nai' scope will be given more natural and consistent account than other analyses in the constraint-based grammar framework. |
