Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method is discussed for the real-time human motion recovery from a stereoscopic image sequence. A set of 2D sticks are extracted from each image, by combining background suppression, skeletonization and line fitting. A 3D structure, named a 3D stick sketch, is reconstructed from four 2D stick sets by a sequential clustering technique. Finally, the 3D stick sketch is successively matched with a human model named the 3D stick model. The matching problem is solved by a labeling algorithm with taking the motion continuity into account.
