Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, methods for reconstructing a 3-D model of a real environment are widely studied. Obtaining a 3-D map of an environment is an essential key to reconstruct a 3-D model. Stereovision is known as one of such methods for obtaining 3-D map. However a lot of images are needed for virtualizing the real environment when conventional stereo camera is used. In this paper, we propose a method that can generate a 3-D model of an environment using the omni directional stereovision. The method uses HyperOmni Vision for image sensors and requires smaller number of images. When two HyperOmni Vision soensors are horizontally placed fore stereo vision, an epipoler line is a curved line that makes stereo matching complicated. Therefore, in order to make epipoler lines straight, an omnidirectional input image is projected onto a cylindrical surface of which axis is on the base line fore stereo vision. In practical experiment, we confirm 3D-model is reconstructed using our method.
