Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Shape modeling methods based on level set approach can be applied to model objects of arbitrary topology. However, they do not go far enough to computational efficiency, modeling from sparse 3-D data, and subcell accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new method of constructing a shape model of a 3-D object of arbitrary topology fast and accurately by using variable-size ball sweeping. We have successfully experimented with synthetic range images of industrial objects with holes and real images of multiple objects. |
