Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We have suggested that tone-nucleus of a syllable fundamental frequency(FO)contour contains the information for tone discrimination. This paper introduces our approach toward the robust method to detecttone-nucleus for each syliable in continuous speech. The developed method first segments a syllable FO contour into several(3 or less)linear F0 loci by the sequential clustering algorithm, and then decides the one corresponding to the tone-nucleus using a predictor based on linear discriminant analysis technique. Tone recognition of continuous speech using the detected tone-nuclei showed the effectiveness of the developed method. |
