| Abstract(in English) | KDD is developing a cross-lingual information retrieval system. The system is used to distribute Japanese pictures over the world. For this purpose, Japanese captions must be translated into English. As Japanese captions are almost compound nouns, this paper describes a transfer method of Japanese compound nouns into English. The method is based on Example-Based transfer method and uses DP matching algorithm to compute similarity between an input and an example. Using the algorithm, it is possible to make good use of examples and expect good transfer accuracy. |
