| 抄録(英) | Native English-speaking subjects participated in a direction- finding task via both telephone and multimodal communication environments(the ATR Environment for Multimodal Interaction). Subjects' disfluency rates,efficiency in achieving discourse goals, and comfort were compared for each setting using both objective and subjective measures.While disfluency rates and efficiency were not affected by mode,the multimodal setting was shown to reduce the verbal component of the interaction by allowing information to be communicated and goals to be achieved visually instead of verbally.Implications for the incorporation of multimodal aspects into natural language processing systems are discussed. |
