Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a dialogue system based on a probabilistic belief system for handling ambiguous intentions of participants. Since a system does not have a complete model about speaker′s beli efs,it needs to infer the model by putting various assumptions, and then sometimes makes mistakes. Therefore the system should gradually modify its speaker′s belief model. In this paper,we discu ss a model to express and infer participants′ uncertain beliefs by using a probabilistic belief system, and its application for intelligent tutoring system to assist programming technic.
