Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This work targets application areas where a form having free- format fields(fields that can contain natural language descriptions)is the principal data structure, and tries to provide means to guide the end user′s input as well as to extract structur ed information form the input. Our method has three kev components: 1.a context-free grammatical formalism that facilitates a form designer to define the logical structure of the form, 2.an input method that uses the contextual information defined by the grammar to minimize the end user′s effort, and 3.a visualization method that displays the logical and physical structure of the form currently being input.
