Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | GIM(Global Interpolation Method),which we propose in this paper, is a high-quality interpolation method for lack of pattern.GIM interpolates it globally by evaluating continuity and connectedness of segment pattern. We apply GIM to segmentation for a handwritten character overlapped a border.First,we extract characters in touch with the border by labeling and remove the border correctly, then, interpolate the lack of character based on the continuity of segments.Next,we re-label interpolated segments, and identify new labeled segment with old labeled one.If we can′t identify,we re-interpolate segments until we can identify. Experimental results show that our method can interpolate the lack of chaxacters correctly, and generate characters whose edge is smooth. |
