An Experimental Concept Learning System based on Mental-image Directed Semantic Theory

Abstract(in English) We have been constructing a learning system for natural language concepts based on MIDST(Mental-image directed semantic theory).The words to be handled by this system,have many concept types. First,we describe the result of our concept analysis of some set of natural language words related to ″color″ and ″light.″ As a result of this study we found that eight attribute spaces are needed to describe the concept and that the two attribute spaces out of the eight cover majority of the whole words. Next,we show the experimental system for learning the concepts according to the results of our analysis.This system acquires color concepts in an interactive way with a human instructor.
