Integration Schemes of Language Understanding and Image Understanding and their Application to Media Transformation

Abstract(in English) Analyzing the characteristics of language and image information, the author presents some considerations on integrated processing of both sorts of information and mutual transfornmation between them. These are expected to activate discussions not only on these problems, but on more fundamental problems of integrated processing of information represented by patterns and that by symbols. The discussions are also considered to contribute to the base of the multi-media technology, especially the media transformation.
