Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are editing a computer-readable dictionary of the two kinds of Japanese verbs ; original forms called "WAGO-verbs" and "SURU-verbs" using Kanji phrases. A KANJI character whose category is classified into verbs makes a key to several associated verbs, so that it plays an entry to words and derived forms. We constructed, in addition, a thesaurus for Japanese verbs in order to establish semantic information among verbs. Japanese verbs, which are composed of a phrase from two KANJI characters, called "SURU-verb", can be classified automatically using semantic information of WAGO-verbs. We tested the rules for classifying SURU-verbs on a personal computer and found experimentally good results of automatic classification for 4,180 SURU-verbs.
