Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gesture recognition is one of the most important technology for a multi-modal dialogue between computer and human. We are now developing a dialogue-based problem solving system. The teacher can make a gesture with a pen to give informations for problem solving. The system must recognize the gesture to associate picture models with words in the teacher's utterance for problem solving. In this paper, a method of gesture analysis in such a multi-modal dialogue is proposed. First, the architecture of our system is shown. Then, gesture analysis and feature extraction is described. In this method, feature extraction is selected by the teacher's utterance. Lastly, results of the simulation are given.
