| 抄録(和) | 本論文では, 単語認知, 単語音読, 記憶, 語義の理解, 文理解, 推論, 社会的認知といった認知課題に関する実験データをシミュレートする, 最近のコネクショニストモデルの動向を紹介する.また, コネクショニストモデルの有利な点と不利な点についても, 展望し要約する.特に, 分散形式に基づいて構造化された情報をあつかう上での問題と, コネクショニストネットワークで変数束縛を要する課題を行う際の問題を, さまざまな角度から議論する.コネクショニストモデルによるコンピュータシミュレーションは, 今日の認知研究に重大な寄与をもたらし, 将来の研究に大きな影響を及ぼすと考えられる.人間の脳が並列分散処理によって, いかにして効率よくシンボルと規則を理解・学習しているかは, 依然として今日の大きな知的課題の1つである. |
| 抄録(英) | In this article, I report on recent progress in connectionist models that simulate empirical data of natural cognitive tasks, these being visual word perception, word naming, memory, understanding word meanings, sentence understanding, reasoning and social cognition. I also summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these connectionist models. In particular, the problems of dealing with structured information in distributed form, and doing tasks that require variable binding in connectionist networks are discussed from several different perspectives. I argue that connectionist computer simulation offers significant benefits for today's researches of cognitive science, and that connectionist modeling is likely to have an important influence on future studies. The question of how the human brain efficiently realizes and learns symbols and rules by the parallel distributed processing is still one of the great intellectual problems of our time. |
