Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We build the system which learns sound source localization ability by self-organization. Learning ability is made by repetition of motion and sensing by self-organization at a learning model using a neural network. The model consists of two modules -a visual estimation module and an auditory estimation module. The sound source localization is realized by learning these modules by self-organization. While two modules operate a system, learning is performed simultaneously. The visual estimation module learns by direct inverse modeling and the auditory estimation module uses the output from the visual estimation module to learn. We conducted the experiment by the robot and the real sound source to investigate the validity of the proposed module. The experimental results demonstrate that sound source localization ability can be acquired without supervision and the system is robust for noize and experimental environment.
