Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In collaborative filtering, it is necessary to respond to user request for recommendation in real time. Method based on correlation between users is often employed for estimating preference values of items. However, it becomes difficult to respond in real time in propotion to the number of persons in database because the computational cost of online prcessing is high. In this paper, we present a method for estimating preference values on the basis of correlation between items. Correlation coefficient is slightly modified to reduce the bias of preference value by persons. It is experimentally shown that the present method estimates the preference values more accurately and faster than the previous method. A method is also presented for selecting optimal items to request users to input their preference. It is verified that the accuracy of estimation by the method is higher than that by the previous one.
