Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this methoed a neural network is used to time and recognize the finger alphabets, which are composed of static and time-varying (sequence) images. First a preprocessing using a difference image based on inter-frame opwrations is performed to classify two kinds of images. Then each neural network recognizes the finger alphabets in each kind. Finally computer simulations show the effectiveness of the present method for actual finger alphabat image data.
