Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) On the primary visual cortex (V1), retinotopy, a topologial mapping from retinae, is observed. Ocular dominance columns (ODC), a stripe pattern of the regions of the left-eye-dominant cells and the right-eye-dominant, are another remarkable structure of V1. The region corresponding to a blind spot of the right eye is naturally left-eye-dominant. ODC around the blind spot region have been photographed. In this paper, Kohonen's SOM is applied to simulate the formation of ODC around a blind spot region, and it is suggested that ODC is fixed before retinotopy is formed.
