Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Focusing on force distribution which is one of computational problems in human grasping movements, we investigated a relation with complexity of objects and proposed existence of internal representation. In psychophysical experiments, subjects were required to exert grasp forces to hold objects under two different conditions. The difference between two conditions was whether subjects could know suitableness of force distribution or not. For most subjects, differences of force distribution between two conditions for a visually complex object were greater than them for a visually simple object. These results support the hypothesis that the force distribution is computed on the basis of internal representation of objects. |
