Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previous data from our laboratory showed that the human horizontal saccades of different two types, such as memory-guided and visually guided saccades, are able to acquire contradictory gains(the ratio of primary saccade amplitude and target eccentricity)at the same time in the same direction. Saccades show also adaptation with respect to their two-dimensional directions. This report shows that horizontal saccades of the same type were able to adapt to reach different gains at diffferent vertical positions. These data suggests that the adaptive mechanism of human saccades may have dependency on the initial eye-position of saccades.
