Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electrophysiological studies analyzing the effect of dopamine(DA)showed conflicting results; someone reported that DA favored long-term depression(LTD)and the others demonstrated that DA established a robust long-term potentiation(LTP). The question we have to ask here is how these changes in synaptic efficacy is produced by DA. This paper presents analysis on how dopaminergic modulation affects long-term plasticity by computer simulation. The model neuron of this paper is a layer V prefrontal pyramidal neuron consisting of a soma, a basal dendritic, and a proximal and a distal apical dendritic compartment. As a remarkable result, it depended on dendritic location whether LTP or LTD was induced.
