Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We introduced a mathematical method for the probabilistic behavior of a neural discharge by the first order differential- difference equation. The neuron is assumed to receive exogenous impulses arriving randomly on the dendrites. The neuron was assumed to process these pulses with a negative exponential distribution process time. By introducing generating function and Laplace transformation, we induced a differential equations for the generating function. By the serial expansion, we obtained a differential equation for the probabilistic state. The temporal behavior of the rate of state probability was parabolic showing definite peak. The time course was influenced by the initial state and arriving impulses. The present method will be available for evaluating the probabilistic behavior of a neuron.
