Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, neuronal dendrites have been proved to have active properties and been expected to have special function in signal integration making use of the property. In this study, synaptic integration in neurons of hippocampal slice preparations is investigated by applying paired-pulse stimulation with interval of 100ms to multiple-site. It will be shown that synaptic inputs to the basal and the apical dendrites evoked by the first stimulation of PPS are integrated in an AND-logic manner, in contrast, the inputs by the second one are in an OR-logic manner. Inputs to the proximal and the distal apical dendrites by both the pair are integrated in an OR-login manner.
