Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing an algorithm for 3-D(horizontal, vertical and torsion)eye movement measuring, using video images. Horizontal and vertical eye movements correspond to the two-dimensional movements of the pulil's center point on the image plane. The torsion angle is estimated by performing one-dimentional cross-correlation using data sampled along track arcs on the iris. The objective of this study was to investigate how the use of the track arcs affected the algorithm's time consumption as well as the accuracy and precision of the estimated torsion angles. In the first experiment, we investigated the relationship between computation-time and number of track arcs. In the second experiment, the accuracy and precision of estimated torsion angles were investigated for the algorithm using different lengths of track arcs. In the third experiment, we investigated torsion accuracy and precision due to the number of track arcs as well as how to choose cross-correlation values in order to calculate accurate torsion angles. Finally, the precision of the estimated torsion angles was investigated for various view angles.
