Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Kohonen's model, box or gaussian type function for lateral interaction is usually used,However,it is well known that the lateral interaction of the living things the shape of the Mexican hat.In this study, the physical type lateral interaction is first introduced into Kohonen's model,Three types of lateral interaction of ordinary box, gaussian type and newly introduced physical type are compared with each other, when the input data of the probability density function is approximated using Kohonen's method. As the result, the physical type is not approximating the probability density, but it forms the cluster. Moreover,it is become clear that the definition of the neighborhood (rectangular type, and Euclidean type) puts the effects on the approximation of the probablhty density.
