Optimization of combination parameters for the compacting algorithm in the layered neural network

Abstract(in English) We constructed the system,which determined the optimum size of the layered neural network on the base of compacting algorithm.The system was applied to an XOR-problem,and the parameters for compacting algorithm were investigated.From the results,we found that the optimum range of the parameters,which were the thresholds of correlation(θ_1) and variance(θ_2) became broader by the limit ing of the number of hidden units integrated by one learning iteration,and that the optimum combination parameters were 0.5〓θ_ 1〓0.98 and 0.0θ_2〓0.1.
