Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We applied the back-propagation method in the layered neural network into the problem selecting the buttons fit to the threads or cloths of suits. The learning parameters of the network in this study were optimized and the generalization of the neural network was discussed. From the results,we found that there was the optimum hidden unit for obtaining the maximum recognition rate, and that the limitation of the weight between input-hidden layers was not effective for the improvement of the recognition rates for the test patterns, but effective for the decrease of the square error of the network. In addition, the decrease of the output units improved the recognition rate for the learning pattern, but not for test patterns.
