Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) I propose a generalized linear model for analysis of firing frequency, which can be used for neurophysiological data with a small number of traces and/or with low firing frequency. This model is based on the following fundamental assumptions. Observed number of spike firings obtained in a finite number m traces obeys the bionmial distribution with the occurence probability π of the event. The occurence probability π is described as the sigmoid function (inverse of logistic function) of a linear weighted summation of several funcions in time. Parameter values in the linear weighted summation can be estimated by the maximum likelihood estimation method by a small number of iteration. Variance of the estiamted parameters can also be evalutaed by a simple formula.
