Abstract(in English) | The author has already proposed a human vision model which simulates various kinds of perceptual responses in human vision including multiple motion detection. In this report, in order to clarify that the vision model is valid as a Fourier-motion detecting model, the model is applied to apparent motion stimuli with ISIs(Inter-Stimulus Interval)and the model's motion detecting characteristics are compared with experimental ones. It is shown that the model can reproduce a reverse motion perception mediated by ISIs in 2-frame apparent motion, and that it can account for a phenomenon in multi-frame apparent motion in which the Fourier mechanism's operation is disrupted beyond a certain ISI, and that conventional energy-based models can not explain the disruption. Moreover, the vision model theoretically predicts that the disruption is caused by a decrease in strength of forward motion perception and a temporally alternating characteristic of forward and reverse motion perception. These results suggest that the vision model is effective in simulating Fourier-motion detecting characteristics in human vision. |
