Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Image warping is a problem, which arises in such fields as image morphing, flexible image matching and many others. In this paper we propose a method for automated warping of images. The proposed method is based on variational principles, and the deformation mapping is obtained as a solution which minimizes a squared sum of pixelwise differences under smoothness constraints. In the rest of the paper we describe details of the proposed method, and present results obtained by applying the proposed method to synthetic images and natural facial images.
