Abstract(in English) It is reported that there are face-feature coding neurons which respond face selectively in the inferior temporal cortex (IT) of monkey. This study proposed an association cortex to entorhinal-hippocampal neural network model that learned and recollected the unfamiliar stimuli, and we evaluated this model's performance by face recognition experiment. In this model it is assumed that the disinhibition from IT to PG is deeply concerned with action condition of entorhinal-hippocampal neural network which is important in the process of object's learning and recollection. This model is based on the neurophysiological experiment that the response to an unfamiliar stimulus of PG neuron is strong but that of IT neuron is weak. We used two coding methods. One is to code by the similarity of the face parts, and another is to code by the competitive learning. We compared the recognition rate of two methods in several cases. As a result, the coding method by similarity was better, but there was some restriction in this method.
