Designing Neural Networks Using Neuron-Based Genetic Algorithms

Abstract(in English) Network structure and learning parameters affect network's performance. Recently, some studies on the problem were reported which used Genetic Algorithm's wide search capability. But these studies have a weak point in that these genetic processes are connection base. There is some possibility that neurons lose necessary input-connections at the next generation. And at the genetic process of making the next generation, neurons that have no input or output connections may occur sometimes. These neurons are fatal neurons and become a reason for fatal gene. Therefore, we propose a way of designing neural network structure using neuron-based genetic algorithm. This system is expected to evade the above problem.
