Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigate a relation between the generation and the perception in human arm movements. When a human performs curved movements of an arm, the tangential velocity is proportional to one-third power of the radius of curvature. It has been confirmed that the one-third power law can be reproduced by the performance index model(e.g., minimum-jerk model and minimum-torque-change model). The human plans and generates the movement patterns according to the performance index. The human perception can be regarded as an inverse process of generation. We hypothesize that the human perceives biological movements on the basis of the performance index. In the current work, through the one-third power law, we examine whether the performance index is used to the movement perception.
