Self-organization and recognition based on hand-shape data obtained by a data-glove

Abstract(in English) We propose a hand-shape recognition method by using a data-glove and Kohonen's self-organizing map. We classify the relation between a size of a competitive layer and the rate of recognition in self-organization. Furthermore, we propose an algorithm which decides the boundaries between classes on a competitive layer in order to overcome the ambiguity between classes on a Kohonen's self-organizing map.
