Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Up to now for a long time, it has been believed that the fixation point(view line)is determined by the local features. However, recent few proceeding papers reported a new phenomenon i.e.some first fixation points go to the center of object where no local feature exists. We can not explain it by the local feature hypothesis. Then we proposed a new hypothesis that the first fixation point is determined by the global feature like the center of objects and conducted an experiment to confirm the hypothesis using a special experimental condition:short duration(100ms, 500ms), just once presentation of a stimulus to a subject, large size stimulus(10-16cm). The results supported the new hypothesis. The supplement experiment, in which a stimulus was presented twenty times to a subject, showed the similar results as the proceeding papers:many fixation points did not go to the center of object.
